Fun to mess around with

Just spent some time playing with Physion, tried out the Liquid Physics Simulator, which was pretty neat. I was just looking for something to kill some time and learn a little. It was easy to get into, no installs or anything, just popped it open in my browser. The Particle Systems were cool to watch. It's a good way to visualize stuff without it being too complicated. Felt pretty natural to use, definitely didn't feel like a chore.

Good for quick tests

Used the 2D Physics Sandbox. It worked fine. Needed to check a concept for a project, and this did the job quickly. No issues with the browser access.

Great value, saved money

As a first-time user, I was really looking for something free to mess around with physics concepts. Physion's Browser-based Physics Lab was exactly what I needed. I didn't have to buy any software, which was a huge plus for my budget. I played around with the Gravity Simulations and Friction and Density Controls for a good hour. It felt like I got a lot of utility without spending a dime. Definitely worth trying if you're like me and want to save some cash but still get a good experience.

Decent tool, some small quirks

I tried out Physion for some basic Rigid Body Simulator tasks. Overall, it's pretty solid for a free browser tool. The simulations ran smoothly, and I liked the immediate feedback. Creating scenes was intuitive enough. My main gripe was that the UI felt a bit cluttered at times, especially when I was trying to fine-tune specific properties. It's a great value since it's free, but a cleaner interface would make it even better for everyday use. Still, for no cost, it's a powerful educational STEM tool.

Consistent and reliable platform

I've been using Physion off and on for a while now, mostly for the Interactive Physics Simulations and testing out the JavaScript Scripting Engine. My latest session was just as smooth as previous times. It's really consistent; I know what to expect. The Physics Scene Editor has always been easy to navigate, and my scenes saved online without a hitch. That reliability is why I keep coming back instead of trying other tools. It just works, every time.

How does Physion stack up against something like Algodoo? I've used Algodoo before for some basic stuff.

C Cleo H. 2 months ago
Physion is cool because it's in the browser and you can script with JS, which is a big plus over Algodoo for more complex stuff.

I think Algodoo might be a bit more intuitive for absolute beginners, but Physion has way more power with the JavaScript scripting. If you want to really dig into custom behaviors, Physion is better. Plus, no install.

Can I actually save the stuff I make in Physion? Or do I lose everything if I close the tab?

You can save your scenes online! I've got a bunch saved to my account.

Yep, it saves them in the cloud. Super convenient so you can pick up where you left off on a different computer if you want. Just make sure you're logged in.

Do I have to download anything to use this? My school computer is locked down.

J Jared 2 months ago
Nah, it's all in the browser. Nothing to install, which is awesome.

Nope, no download needed. That's one of its main features, makes it super accessible. Works on any compatible browser.

hey, is Physion really totally free? like, no hidden costs or 'premium' features later on?

R Raj 1 month ago
Yeah, it's free. Been using it for months and haven't hit any paywalls. It's all browser-based.

Totally free, man. No license keys or anything. They don't even have a premium version to upsell you to, which is pretty cool.
